Hormone Replacement Therapy

In 1999 I read a book titled “No More Hot Flashes.” The author recommended Hormone Replacement Therapy to put an end to the flashes of heat that surged through my body as often as every 20 minutes. I immediately contacted my doctor and he reluctantly consented to prescribing a lose dose of the hormones Estrogren and Progestrone.

I cannot recall whether the hot flashes cooled off or not, but I do recall the biopsy report that indicated a recent bruise from ramming the poor thing on a stack of lumber had tested positive for breast cancer. I ended up having a masectomy.

I began reading medical reports inicating that one serious side-effect from Hormone Replacement Therapy can be breast cancer. About the same time I noticed pushy new advertisements for HRT supplements. Five years later after going off an anti- estrogen pill called Tomaxifen (sp?) I once again experienced horrible hot flashes. This time I found that cutting out sugar from my diet quelled much of the discomfort. Wished I had known that sooner.

I am very concerned that the next generation of menopausers may not be aware of the link between hormone therapy and breast cancer. Please browse authentic medical reports beforehand. I was on a low dosage when I was diagnosed. I believe some families may be more prone to cancer than others.
