Rhymes, Rants & Accolades from North Central BC

A Poem a Day Project

I entered this world with a petulant shout,

Saying, “Let me go back, I didn’t want out!”

“This world is too noisy, so crowded and smelly,

I liked it much better inside my mom’s belly.

I’ve heard about how there are folks who are rich,

And others who sleep in the dirt in a ditch.

This world is in turmoil, there’s power in money,

And if you are poor, it’s ‘Too bad Sonny,’

“As long as I’m out here I’d better take note,

For when I am older, to be sure to vote!”
