Glistening white frosting

swirls unevenly

across the lumpy

chocolate landscape.

Moon-like texture

with dips and crevices

on its crusty surface.

Chocolate layers

show through

here and there

on marshmallow-coated

hillsides.

Thin patches of trees

resemble sprinkles

and shavings

of dark chocolate.

Caramel-coloured rivers

sludge soddenly

through deep winding chasms.

In the north

billowing clouds

now roll in,

obscuring mountain

surfaces

with soft meringue

and whipped cream…

Beneath our plane,

blue skies

continue to reign.

We are off to a new beginning
