That Christie Clark is one smart woman! In the short time that she’s been premier, she’s made the HST seem palatible and less of a dirty trick played on an unsuspecting public after the last provincial election. She’s gonna reduce the tax from 12 percent to 10 percent – sometime within the next 2 years. If she wasn’t a politician she’d have made a darn good phycologist, lawyer or bartender. Who says it’s only men who can lead a horse to water; push him in; and expect him to be grateful for a drink?
Ah well, I do like Christie. She has what Bill Vander Zahm once referred to as “style, rather than substance” and Bill should know about that. But now he’s the one on the opposite side of the fence. And I think poor Bill has met his match in Christie.
The Battle of the HST emerged with the government’s carefully contrived query urging us to vote “No” – meaning “yes” – leaving those against, having to vote “Yes” – meaning “No.”
I wonder how many people – besides me – are confused? It reminds me of that old Glen Miller song: “Yes, We Have No Bananas Today.”
But I gotta admit I do like Christie Clark. (I like Harper too – except for the fact that he’s Conservative)
