For 87 years I’ve resided on this not-very-big planet that wobbles in a slightly eliptical orbit around the huge gaseous source of heat, light and other basic necessities that is the sun.
At the same time, our Earth spins on its axis in a 24 hour pattern, along with its own satellite which is the moon. Once in a while, comets, meteors and meteorites spin through the stratosphere, but do little to disturb the pattern. (As far as I know)
Each year there seems to be subtle differences in the woodlands that we Northern BCers pay attention to. For instance, why were there so few of the bright red paintbrush flowers last year? This year, once again, there are clumps and scatterings of paintbrushes everywhere.
Very little in the human world is perfect. We screw up all the time and then we make changes – hopefully improvements. Nature does the same. I remember driving through a blackened area in the woods where there had been a forest fire the previous year. Tiny shoots of pretty wildflowers brightened up the huge depressing graveyard of burned, but still upright trees.
Throughout my lifetime so many exciting (at times scary ) situations were continually evolving. Mistakes were sometimes made, followed by the necessary changes to complete the learning/ healing procedures that were called for at the time. It was an ongoing process.
The News Of The Day was followed by everyone from eight to eighty. (Not many eighty year olds in those days) We devoured newspaper headlines, listened to radio broadcasts and then there was The Television News. Now there’s the Internet…
I love the Internet. I can put words together and convince people that I still have all my marbles!
