[an oldtime waltz, by Doris, music by Leon]
Where is the oldtime music?
Does anyone whistle a song
Has the love dissapeared from the lovesongs
Are they all about hate, hurt and wrong?
Does anyone sing in the shower
A song about roses and wine
Has the moon been obscured by the black clouds
Of war and of drugs and of dyin’
Where are the songs about lovers
Whose dreams are about to come true
Of heartstrings, and bluebirds, and flowers
Has the gold moon turned to blue
Does anyone dance with their loved one
With arms so closely embraced?
Or do they all dance to the rock groups
Not caring which way they are faced
We weep for the past generations
Their wars, hipocracy, wrongs
But I miss the old fashioned music
I miss the old fashioned songs
